Simulator evaluation in CRJ700

• Depart runway straight out, level at intermediate altitude, accelerate to 250kt
  Climb at 250kts to final altitude, perform steep turns. Coming through 30 degrees of bank, giving nose up trim for a two count will help you hold altitude without a lot of back pressure.
  Cleared direct to VOR, then given holding instructions. Don't forget to slow down 2 minutes prior to entering the hold!


• Fly an ILS approach to the landing. 60% N1 is a good target power setting, 2 1/2 degrees is a good target pitch


• Our recommendation: If you are not familiar with glass cockpits, buy a copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator X. It includes a CRJ700, and practicing the profile on MSFS X will help you get comfortable with the displays and improve your performance for the interview.

• What difference does it make if visibility goes below minimums and you are outside the FAF? What if you are inside the FAF?


• What is a VDP? A PDP?


• What are you required to have in sight to descend below decision altitude? Which item is different from the others?


• Which is controlling, visibility or RVR? Which RVR? If touchdown zone RVR is inoperative, can midpoint be substituted?


• How far down the runway are the aim points? The touchdown zone?

• This information is still good. Everyone is really nice and all the questions asked are basic instrument/weather/aerodynamic/accident reporting questions. Please take time to study!! Its not hard but if your like me, you wont remember a lot of the question because they are very basic and you might not think about them that much. Study these gouges and you ll be glad you did. I felt like I aced the interview also. (03/21/11)


• They have combined the interview process with ExpressJet. The questions are a combo of this gouge and Expressjets gouge but the root of the interview is still ASA. 30 question written test, write a paragraph about a specified topic, written human resources questions and the tabular test. Technical questions are ALL ExpressJet stuff. Last but not least, SIM check is now done in 737-200. (09/08/11)
